Retouch that keeps your texture

Most retouch apps smooth skin by blurring it. Pores go, and so does the thing that made the photograph look like a photograph — you get a face that reads as edited from across the room.

PhotoTune separates fine detail from tone before it smooths anything, then puts the detail back. Blemishes and blotches go; pores and skin texture stay. There is a floor under how much texture can be removed, and it is enforced in the code rather than left to a slider.

There are no face-shape tools at all — no jaw, no chin, no nose, no cheeks. Not capped versions of them: absent. Retouching skin is a different thing from redrawing a face, and this app only does the first.

Coming to the App Store. iPhone only.
